Make It At Market

Contemporary Stained Glass Design and Glass School Based in the Stunning UNESCO English Lake District National Park.

Our creative director and resident glass artist, Kate Lavender has been creating stunning hand-crafted pieces using both the traditional Tiffany foiling and leaded techniques for over 30 years, and formally established North Lakes Stained Glass in 2021 after moving to Keswick from Sheffield, South Yorkshire.

Inspired by natural forms and the outdoor environment, her work utilises the intrinsic beauty of the vintage, reclaimed & modern glass she selects, accentuated through traditional kiln-fired painting, unique design & heritage techniques, to reflect the emotive and dynamic aspects of her surroundings.

Bespoke commission work is very much welcomed, in both contemporary and traditional designs, ranging from small 'memory' items through to full window and door panels.

ā€‹

Through the glass school, an extension of her creative practice and just as unique as her products and art, she not only aims to help students build knowledge, skills and confidence, but to support them to explore this exciting medium in their own individual ways by kindling sparks that will light the fire of inspiration!
